MOD BOSSA!!!!

Sam Q’s Nightpatrol are here TODAY fuelling the New Mod Bossanova movement both recording and performing a unique style of Latino that has attracted a UK/International Mod following particularly with their 12 inch Vinyl EP ‘’Peles Groove’’ – featured and interviewed on UK Mod radio stations such as Target Radio (Cookie Show) and licensing tracks to Eddie Pillars Acid Jazz record label. Here’s what James Walsh - Mod Radio DJ and the author of ‘’Above The Clouds’’ says about Sam Q’s Nightpatrol:

‘’ A distinctly 21st Century sound but founded in history; built upon a combination of the feels and grooves of the finest Latin Jazz, and delivered with a style and swagger in the best traditions of the modernist movement’’

Sam Qureshi is guiding both traditional Mods and the new generation back to their long forgotten musical roots and the direction is fresh and acceptable to the rising movement.

The Mods took their name from Modern Jazz in London 1958 – spreading throughout Great Britain whilst effecting fashion trends in other countries – adopting Italian mopeds such as Vespas and Lambretta and often tailored suites – it was a essential part of The Swinging 60’s - The original Mods of this exciting sub culture would frequent Jazz clubs and listen to Charlie Parker, Stan Getz and Miles Davis – The New Mods are listening to Sam Q catalogue in the same way – whether it’s the chill-out Bossa Nova set in the lounge or the late night hot sambas to dance the night away It has become ‘’The Birth of The Cool’’ –

Sam Q’s Night patrol are the essential vehicle of this British Explosion!!
